What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a wholistic treatment designed to restore function in your body. As a Manual Osteopathic Therapist, Carrie is trained to look at your body as a whole unit where every muscle, bone, vessel, nerve, and organ are interrelated in both structure and function.

I'm so glad you stopped by!

My goal is to help you feel your best no matter what your age or condition. Perhaps your body needs a general rebalance or overall maintenance. Maybe you've been dealing with chronic pain or fertility challenges. You might even be a new parent struggling with feeding issues due to oral restrictions or sleepless nights with a baby experiencing digestive upsets. Whatever it is, I'm here to help.

Manual Osteopathic Therapy is a wholistic way to treat your body and facilitate its return to a balanced state. After assessing your posture, movement, and tension patterns, I work with you to create a treatment plan to best suit you, your lifestyle, time, and budget. This can include treatment under Manual Osteopathic Therapy and Massage Therapy as well as referrals to other professionals.

5 year old's thoughts about a CST Treatment

Thank you so much for today! After we left, I asked her what she thought about it and how she felt with you... her response was, "I love Carrie" and I could tell she felt safe with you. Thanks for being such a gentle, safe space for her to experience her own healing sessions just for her. This afternoon and evening were one of the easier days we've had in a long time <3. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!! We will be seeing you again, I'm sure of it!

Craniosacral Therapist Edmonton

Carrie’s craniosacral therapy training comes from both the Upledger Institute and the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada. Although her primary focus is mothers and babies, Carrie is also experienced at creating treatment plans for clients who deal with back pain, jaw pain, pelvic issues, fertility, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia.

Visceral Manipulation Edmonton

Viscera is the connective tissue surrounding your organs and attaching them to the rest of your body. Not only can we suffer from restrictions within our muscular tissue, but we can also have restrictions within our visceral system. Perhaps you took a fall that jostled your organs around. Perhaps you had surgery (even laproscopic) that has lead to some scar tissue. Either way, Carrie is devoted to understanding the interconnectedness of the body and is skilled at treating the body as a whole; integrating the gentle therapeutic touch of craniosacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation into wholistic treatments that facilitate deep change. Carrie focuses on getting through the layers that cause discomfort and finding the root of the issue… and sometimes that root is within your guts!

Edmonton Osteopathy

An appointment with Carrie uses principles of traditional osteopathy to combine craniosacral therapy, osteoarticulations, myofascial remodelling, visceral manipulation, and manual lymphatic treatment into an intuitive treatment that best serves what your body needs that day.

Craniosacral Therapy for Babies and Children Edmonton

Carrie works with all ages and has taken additional training in Craniosacral Therapy to meet the needs of families ranging from conception/fertility to newborns, mother and child dyads, and children. She has taken on extra studies in pediatric cranial osteopathy and continues to learn about this passion. To read more about paediatric treatments, click here.
